Winter holidays 2012

Last Monday and Wednesday, I went to the same place for dinner but with different groups of people. It is a bit amazing that I visited Arirang for dinner twice in a week. 

On Monday, I went with Sophie and her friend (Opppsss... Can't remember her name). 

It is Kim Chi Hot Pot, Yummmmssss, mild spicy and very 有料！！It contains kim chi, enoki and shiitake mushrooms, pork belly slices with egg, tofu, Korean dumplings and some kind of vegetables. But it is a bit expensive, $40, but still acceptable because it is tastiLICOUS =) 

The picture above shows the side dishes provided and my bowl of rice. The side dishes are of course free but do you know how much the rice cost? It is just a small bowl of rice but it cost $2.50 (Around RM 8 for just a bowl of rice which doesn't even manage to fill up my tummy). Next time I shall bring my own rice there. =P I love the side dishes, especially the preserved radish, it just makes me mouth water right now!!

 We did order Korean seafood pancake. It tasted good too. Can you imagine a pancake made from a variety of seafood, capsicum, spring onion and onions,and when you eat, you dip it with vinegar and chopped chilli....  SYOK!!

The second time at Arirang. This tims I went there with Jack, Yan Liang, Micheal and Rita. Jack is leaving Canberra for good and heading to Netherlands for Masters (I think, not too sure). Do you think visiting the same place twice a week exaggerating, Jack went there more often than me!!

This is a chicken dish with rice. The chicken was so tender and most important it was not spicy. The sauce matched the chicken well enough.

Instead of kim chi hot pot, we ordered pork big bone hot pot. It contains big bones, potato noodles, potato and spring onion. Sorry to say but i prefer the kim chi hot pot. LOL. This dish is too heavy for me. The soup was too thick and i can only taste spiciness and saltiness in it (Just personal opinion, Jack and Yan Liang love it though)

 

The Korean seafood pancake. It turned me down this time I visit because it is not abundant as compared to my previous visit. I no longer see capsicum and some of the seafood are missing too. HAHAHA. Maybe they are running low with the cooking ingredients. Overall, it is still good.

Does this Squid dish look yummy? A bit sweet and spicy but the squid is a bit rubbery. LOL

Do you see the empty hot pot? We managed to sweep everything into our tummy. It is always a blessings to have hot pot in the winter or in the cold. You just feel warm after the meal.

I am waiting for my lamb forequarter to cook in the oven. I was too bored while waiting =.='' I like lamb forequarter but I know it is bad for health so I try to only have it once in a while. I don't want my cholesterol level to sky rocket over the holiday. Hahahaha.
